In God We Trust - Small Faith Sharing Groups
In God We Trust

What is this small group reflection process all about?

This four-session small group process is one of the most challenging faith sharing experiences we have engaged in at St. Margaret Mary Parish. Participants will be invited to broaden their understanding of parish beyond being a place where their needs are met. We will be asked to stretch our concept of Christian discipleship to include both our individual calling and our collective calling as a parish.

This small group process will invite participants to reflect upon the challenges and opportunities the current economic crisis presents to our suburban parish. We will engage in theological reflection on what is happening in our local community, our nation and in the world. As part of that reflection we will be looking to see where God is at work in our world and we will begin to discern how God might be calling our parish to cooperate with God´s work.

To help guide our discernment process we will be tapping into the wisdom of Scripture and the rich tradition of Catholic teaching. We will be challenged to see that trusting in God does not mean that we sit tight and wait out the current economic storm in order to return to our familiar lives. Instead, we will be invited to embrace a trust in God that gives us the courage to leave the familiar and move into the wilderness where transformation can take place.
