As part of our discernment of the fiscal year parish budget, the Pastoral Council is asking each family to participate in our stewardship efforts. We are blessed at St Margaret Mary as your contributions have sustained a vibrant parish rich in educational offerings, spiritual development, a multitude of service ministries, opportunities for social interaction and inspiring liturgies – all to do God’s work here.
With flat contributions and increasing costs we anticipate a sizable funding cut to our important commissions and ministries – many of which may be visible to you. Despite this, the passion to do God’s work here is stronger than ever – to expand our capabilities and our ministries to more fully live our mission. It is our goal to raise contributions to match our collective desire to do God’s work.
1. Stewardship Committee Participation: St. Margaret Mary has created a stewardship committee to advocate for the contributions to the parish. We are asking for volunteers skilled in fund raising / development and communications/outreach/promotion to join this committee. If you are interested, please contact Carl VanDril at 630-416-9371.
2. Planned Giving: We are announcing a capability to give to the parish in different ways. Planned Giving will enable you to contribute to St Margaret Mary via estate plans, wills, and trusts. We are also opening up a capability to donate stocks and securities directly to the parish. These options may have added tax advantages to the donor.
3. Automated Contributions: We encourage you to use our automated giving capability – a convenient method of giving that is more efficient for the parish. To enroll in automated giving, or to change your contributions, visit smmp.churchgiving.com.
4. Adjusting Your Contributions: If you haven’t done so lately, we ask each of you to examine your level of giving. A periodic review of your regular contributions up or down, to match your ability to give is an important part of stewardship and we invite you to do so.
St Margaret Mary is a vibrant faith community with a strong purpose. Your participation of time, talent, and financial contributions have made us the parish we enjoy today, a parish focused on doing God’s work. Thoughtfully consider how you can participate in the four initiatives we have outlined so we can continue to sustain and grow in doing God’s work.
