Holiday Gift Basket Committee
Our parish collects food baskets for families of six in need at Christmas and Easter. These meals are given to local social service agencies and be distributed to low-income families in our area.

Knights of Columbus
The Knights of Columbus is a worldwide Catholic fraternal organization for men that provide members and their families with volunteer opportunities for service to the Catholic Church, their communities, families and young people. St Margaret Mary Council 16011 invites all Catholic men of the parish to join our Council. Meetings are held on the 4th Thursdays of the month. Legion of Mary
Its stated mission is for active members to serve God under the banner of Mary by the corporal and spiritual works of Mercy. The main activities include door to door evangelization, inviting all to our parish with a weekly bulletin, looking for any needs such as religious articles, materials, elderly needs and asking if homes have been blessed. Men’s Club
This group strives to serve God, each other, our parish and community in a spirit of camaraderie. They organize charitable activities such as April in Parish, and sponsor family activities such as the annual parish picnic, bingo night and family fun night.

Sunshine Ministry

Christian Service Commission
The Christian Service Commission (CSC) is a combination of many committees whose responsibility it is to provide opportunities to serve God and those in need. The CSC contributes coordination, planning, assessing needs, and aids in establishing the ministry efforts of the parish. The commission also serves as a link with diocesan social ministry agencies, such as: Catholic Charities, social concerns and family ministry.
Service to Our Community

Charitable Contributions Committee
St. Margaret Mary Parish donates to organizations which serve the needy. A committee allocates these funds based upon human needs including feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, sheltering the homeless, and providing for the physical and spiritual well-being of individuals and groups. This committee, comprised of parishioners, meets monthly starting in September to review donation requests. Requests can be submitted starting on July 1. Military Ministry
This is a support group for all veterans and currently serving soldiers. We also lend a hand for those in need. We mail letters, boxes of personal items, valentines and Christmas cards as well as having a prayer group. We also wish to support the families of soldiers. Refugee Support Group
The Refugee Support Group provides direct service to refugee families in our community and plans educational programs and advocacy opportunities to live out the Church’s teachings on migrants and refugees.

Sharing Parish
This committee provides tuition assistance to students at three Catholic grammar schools in Aurora — St. Rita of Cascia, St. Terese of Jesus, and St. Peter — by sponsoring a yearly “mega” Garage Sale to raise funds. For more information and to volunteer, email sharingparish@smmp.com.

The Sunshine Ministry makes daily phone calls to seniors and shut-ins to make sure they are well and to provide emotional support. If necessary they can also contact neighbors and family members to do follow up.
